Data integrity and data leakage during administration of VPN systems has been a problem for a long time. As of April 21:th, cybersecurity company Advenica has been granted a U.S. patent for a solution to the problem, called Three Domain Separation. The technology is a unique innovation that prevents IT administrators from accessing sensitive information.
Three Domain Separation is a technology that guarantees the separation between the sensitive data traffic and system administration. The solution is based on extending the traditional two-domain separation (red/black) with an administration domain. This provides unique assurance and protection against data leakage, which is crucial for Managed Security Service Providers and for customers who manage their own cybersecurity systems.
“The patent further strengthens our position as a leading provider of innovative cybersecurity solutions. We can offer organisations unique information assurance while both internal and external IT support get tools that simplify the administration of VPN devices, for example”, says Anders Strömberg, VP Marketing, Advenica AB.
For a cost effective management of an organisation's IT infrastructure, centralized administration of installed VPN equipment is necessary today. Advenicas Three Domain Separation with administrative gateway and dedicated, encrypted tunnels for administrative communication now enables the use of central administration without the risk of data leakage.
The patent is granted by United States Patent and Trademark Office. Patent number 9015825.
